Finding a good choline supplement can be a headache. Choline promotes a wide variety of healthy function in the body, and depending on what you're taking it for, you might want to pair it with similar compounds or just take a plain choline supplement. Choline supplements are on the rise because of its link to a few major health benefits, including a reduction in cholesterol and a booster in brain function. Choline is the most abundant phospholipid in the body and is used to remove fat from the liver, and cleanse the internal regions of the body. Choline is necessary to form a specific kind of neurotransmitter called acetylcholine, which research has linked to memory and mood. Like other neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, acetylcholine is vital to feeling normal and alert. Types of Choline Supplements

Like we discussed above, choline is involved in a wide variety of bodily functions, and supplements that contain choline in them often contain other chemicals as well. But depending on whether you're taking choline to support cholesterol regulation, or to support healthy brain function, you'll find choline paired with different compounds. One option that a lot of people like is to take choline and inositol together. Inositol is a very similar compound to choline and is involved in both brain function and cholesterol regulation. So taking a choline supplement paired with inositol gives you an extra bang for your buck.

Some supplements for brain function contain choline along with a variety of other compounds that stimulate the production of other neurotransmitters as well. These brain supplements seek to enhance the total function of the brain, by stimulating the production of things like dopamine, serotonin, and acetylcholine. Other brain supplements are more specific, like choline bitartrate, which uses a form of choline as it's main ingredient to stimulate production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine alone. Still others, such as choline and inositol, have been shown to compliment each other in the stimulation of neurotransmitter production. So depending on what you're looking for, there are different kinds of choline supplements out there. I've left you links to a variety at the bottom.

As far as I'm concerned, supplements which contain choline as one of the many natural elements is better than taking choline alone because choline isn't generally deficient in most persons. Choline is great, because choline is able to pass the blood brain barrier and helps to stimulate neurotransmitter function, but there are many other supplements as well that stimulate the production of other neurotransmitters.

The last choline supplement is actually my favorite because it combines an effective form of choline with EPA and DHA, which are both Omega 3 essential fatty acids found primarily in fish. EPA and DHA are essential to proper brain function and the Standard American Diet has been shown to be deficient in Omega 3s. So not only do you get choline, but you get two other natural essential brain compounds which most diets don't have enough of. But the choice is yours. Thx for that, have tried out choline myself for a while and did notice improved concentration etc. Useful when studying for exams ;)
