Juice for Arthritis -- Mangosteen

Mangosteen juice for arthritis is finally starting to gain popularity in the United States. When I lived in southeast Asia for a year, I came across a bunch of different kinds of fruits that I had never before heard of, things like lychee, mangosteen, jackfruit, and more. Because they were so flavorful and delicious, I started doing some research on them to find out if there were any special health benefits that were different from western fruits like oranges, apples and the like. One very cool health benefit I found was mangosteen juice for arthritis. Mangosteen, despite the first part of its name, isnt' related to mango at all, and doesn't taste anything similar. It's a very odd shaped fruit with a skin like no other fruit I've seen. It's very juicy and tastes really good on its own, or mixed in drinks.

Why mangosteen juice for arthritis? Mangosteen, beyond it's antioxidant and vitamin content, seems to have one very special feature. Though studies haven't had time to be substantiated, research is showing that mangosteen has very strong anti-inflammatory properties, making it the perfect drink to take if you have arthritis. But beyond arthritis, natural anti-inflammatory substances have a wide range of uses. There are whole diets centered around eating as many natural anti-inflammatory foods as possible. Anti-inflammatory diets are just plain good for your overall health. Proponents of anti-inflammatory diets claim that such diets reduce the risk of heart disease, keep existing heart conditions in check, reduce blood pressure, and last but not least, help control arthritis.

An awesome way to get Mangosteen into your diet is through a green powder.  Miracle Greens has a powder that has mangosteen in its formula, plus 2 other powerful anti-inflammatory agents.  Here's a link to a review article about Miracle Greens and Arthritis.

How Mangosteen Juice for Arthritis Works

While there are more than 100 different kinds of arthritis out there, they are all characterized by an inflammation of the joints. This inflammation is very painful, often inhibiting a person from living an active lifestyle. Some forms of arthritis are actually autoimmune diseases in which the body actually attacks itself, but many forms of arthritis come about simply through age and a healthy use of the joints. They just plain start to wear out. Many people who suffer from arthritis take daily medications in order to control the pain of the joints and to reduce the swelling of inflammation. That's where mangosteen juice comes in. Mangosteen contains chemicals called xanthones, which research has shown to have potent anti-inflammatory effects. Reducing swelling and inflammation naturally is always better than doing it through medication. And at the same time, you're also getting lots of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Mangosteen juice will not cure arthritis. Anti-inflammatory supplements merely control the pain of arthritis, and to some extent help prevent further damage to the joints. Many forms of arthritis can't be cured. The joints just wear out. Even in the case of rheumatoid arthritis, the only thing that can generally be done is to replace the joint. There is no known cure for this and many other kinds of arthritis. Not only that, but anti inflammatory herbs and juices might be helpful in the fight against gout.

Mangosteen Cocktail Juice for Arthritis

Because I'm a big fan of making your own juice cocktail that's packed full of the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients your body generally isn't getting through the Standard American Diet (SAD), I like adding mangosteen juice into the fruit cocktail. Making a healthy drink once a day using things like organic lemons and oranges, and adding things like ground flaxseed and probiotic yogurt will definitely make you feel a hundred times better, and is definitely better overall for you than taking a handful of individual supplement pills. If you're suffering from arthritis or just generally want to add natural anti-inflammatory foods into your diet, mangosteen juice is perfect for your homemade juice cocktail. I've left you a link to a cheap source of mangosteen juice that's on sale. It's a pretty good deal for 32 ounces, and it's even kosher.

Enjoy!!

Drugs merely mask the symptoms of arthritis and cannot cure the disease. In fact, drugs hasten the progression of the disease. You are so right, a diet high in foods that prevent inflammation is so important. That is part of the problem with western diets. So many of the foods eaten are pro-inflammation. You need to include the right fats in your diet such as olive oil. Many of the fats that Americans tend to consume have a cascading effect that causes the inflammation within our bodies. Not just that which is associated with arthritis, but as you stated, many other diseases. Try to eliminate fried foods and utilize supplements such as glucosamine sulfate. Thanks to natural choices that I have made in my life I have been pain free for fifteen years! Your article is very informative as all of them are. I enjoy reading and I even learn about new supplements when I read your articles. Some of the supplements I might benefit from, others I may not need, but none the less I have learned a lot. Thanks for teaching me. Teresa
