Emulsified Cod Liver Oil
79Emulsified Cod Liver Oil
Emulsified cod liver oil is one of the best supplements I've taken so far. What's emulsified you ask? Emulsification is the blending of two or more usually nonblendable substances. When you're trying to mix water and oil, or water and fat, for example, you need a process to emulsify the substances so that they can be blended together. If you're wondering whether or not cod liver oil needs to be emulsified or if they just do it to dilute it to give you less, the answer is no. Cod liver oil must be emulsified before it can be broken down and used by the body. The body can't absorb everything and even the standard vitamins and minerals you take in pill form, only about 50% of those on average are able to be absorbed by the body.
Why Emulsified Cod Liver Oil?
Cod liver oil, like I said earlier, is the best supplement I've taken so far. I can feel a noticeable difference in the body. For a little background on the health benefits of cod liver oil, here are just a few.
1. Helps Stabilize Depression and Mood Changes
- Fish oil contains the fatty acid known as DHA, which studies have shown to be powerful in the fight against depression. If you're suffering from depression, DHA in your everyday diet is a very recommended thing.
3. Healthy Cardiovascular System
- The fatty acid EPA in cod liver oil supports the cardiovascular system.
4. Healthy Bones, Teeth and Joints
- The fatty acid EPA in cod liver oil helps support joints, teeth and bones. Taking it on a regular basis will help keep your skeletal system in prime condition.
5. Contains Vitamins A, E, and D
Cod Liver Oil Instead of Fish
Cod liver oil comes from fish, and many people argue that taking a supplement from a natural product is always less effective than just eating the natural product itself, in this case fish. Many people argue that it's better to just eat a lot of fish than to take a supplement synthesized from fish oils. In an ordinary case, I would be forced to agree with them. Eating an orange is better than taking vitamin c pills. But in the case of cod liver oil, I would have to agree with them. Emulsified cod liver oil in supplement form is a good, safe, healthy way of getting your daily dose of fish oil. Why is that? More and more you hear reports about fish being contaminated with mercury and other harmful chemicals. Mercury poisoning is becoming more and more common. I personally love fish, but I try not to eat it as often as I'd like. Instead, I take my emulsified cod liver oil to make up for the lack found in my diet. Emulsified cod liver oil is tested for mercury levels. The choice is up to you. A little bit of both is probably the best practice.
In our modern world of corporate farming and toxins, we need to be increasingly careful about the foods we eat. Not everything that was once healthy is still healthy. And many of the foods farmed corporately have lost much of their nutritional value. We need to make sure we know what we're eating and how it's affecting us. It's not always easy to do. That's why I always take Norwegian fish oil, like the one pictured above. Carlson is a very trusted brand and has the purest form of fish oil that I've heard of. Give it a try.

Do I need to give my daughter twice the amount because it is Emulsified?
Distilled Cod Liver Oil would be purer. Look for it on Yahoo or google you'll find out for yourselves.
thanks you answered all my question
Can it help lower my blood pressure ? I have heard this but am skeptical.
This product is not emulsified. However, you mentioned emulsified cod liver oil is the best. (?)
Ben, the one that I use is made by Green Pasture. It is called Blue Ice. The cod liver oil is emulsified and fermented, the old fashioned way. It is a bit pricey. $44.00 for an 8 onuce glass bottle. And they do have several flavors.
