Caffeine Shampoo
79Caffeine Shampoo
In my recent study of caffeine, I came across a very interesting product, caffeine shampoo, and I had to write an article about it. Caffeine shampoo isn't the next energy buzz, that penetrates through your scalp and directly into your brain, or anything like that. Rather, caffeine shampoo has been formulated specifically with the idea of stimulating hair growth in mind. Caffeine and coffee have been consumed for many centuries by humans, and have been used for a wide variety of different purposes, but hair loss? Does it actually work. Let me give you a little background.
Caffeine shampoo is a product of Alpecin Cosmetics. They've been around for a very long time, but their caffeine shampoo product has only been available for the last decade, since about 2000. Because of a study they performed with a German doctor, Dr Adolf Klaenk. They did multiple different kinds of tests and in the end, found in their results that the caffeine derivative actually did help stimulate hair growth. The caffeine, when left on the hair for a few minutes, actually penetrates into the hair follicles and roots, and stimulates new growth. Their study also showed that the life cycle of the hair was also increased as well.
Caffeine and Hair
Does caffeine in general help stimulate hair growth. Under normal levels of consumption, no. But there has never really been a test subject for what would happen to hair growth if a person were to drink the required amount of caffeine for it to reach the roots and hair follicles. That amount would be equal to many many cups of coffee everyday. Applying caffeine in a chemical substance through shampoo is a very interesting idea.
According to their website, the chemical in Alpecin's caffeine shampoo targets weak, but not dead hair roots. This makes it an interesting product, useful in some cases but not in others. Many persons who are already experiencing baldness have hair roots that are completely deteriorated. In such cases, it would be difficult or even impossible for any topical substance to revive and restore the roots and the original hair. Caffeine shampoo is like most hair loss topical solutions, it's best and most effective when used early, when hair is just starting to show signs of thinning and baldness. Like the old axiom states, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Strengthening Hair Naturally
The hair is a somewhat delicate and intricate system in the human body. In order for it to continue to be healthy and vibrant, many other systems in the body need to all be functioning in proper healthy order as well. Often times, early hair loss can come because of poor habits. Things like stress, anxiety, and lack of sleep can contribute to early hair loss. Also, poor eating habits have been shown more and more to contribute to hair loss. Because the body naturally produces less and less digestive enzymes as it continues to age, getting the right nutrients, vitamins, and minerals becomes increasingly difficult. People eating the Standard American Diet are especially at risk. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are much more common in American society than most people realize, and a deficiency in one or more key vitamins and minerals can very easily start premature hair loss and aging.
If you're starting to show signs of hair loss or premature aging, one of the best things you can do is to change your eating habits. Try and eat more raw, organic fruits and vegetables to fill up not only on the digestive enzymes that will help your body absorb the nutrients it needs to keep you healthy and vibrant, but also because raw organic fruits and vegetables are filled with all the vitamins and minerals that you need, the building blocks for healthy systems like hair, skin, and more.

Very informative hub, thanks for sharing this.
Benji. I used this stuff and I was VERY surprised, that IT WORKS. Not just a little bit, a lot! I use the Alpecin shampoo once ever 2 days and the Alpecin after shampoo liquid morning and evening, and my hair shedding is down 95%, and this is still the case after 4 months. I was very surprsied that an over the counter product could do this safely, with out side effects, what a relief! Great hub.
